  6.            TinyHost is a small, personal-sized host program for IBM PC's 
  7.        or compatibles. It is designed to permit logging onto one's 
  8.        computer from a remote site, without having to install a full-
  9.        fledged Bulletin Board program. To this end, many BBS features 
  10.        are not implemented - TinyHost is not intended to compete with 
  11.        such programs.

  13.            Some of the features of TinyHost V2.30 are:
  14.  
  15.            1) 300 to 9600 baud operation with Hayes compatible modems, 
  16.        COM1 - COM4. 
  17.  
  18.            2) XModem, XModem/CRC, and 1K-XModem (sometimes called 
  19.        YModem) file transfer protocols for uploads and downloads. 
  20.  
  21.            3) On-line viewing of a text file on the host system.
  22.  
  23.            4) Supports a ringback mode so that a phone line that is 
  24.        normally dedicated to voice communcations can also be used for 
  25.        data transfers.
  26.  
  27.            5) Up to 25 user accounts can be created, with passwords to 
  28.        prevent unauthorized people from logging onto the system. Ten 
  29.        different security levels are available.

  31.            6) Personal and Public mail, and SysOp Comments.

  33.            7) TinyHost's executable file is less than 80K, and the 
  34.        program requires less than 130K of memory to run in. 
  35.        Consequently, TinyHost can even be run from the smallest of PC's!

  39.            TinyHost has been released in ZIP form, utilizing the 
  40.        Authenticity Verification option. When un-Zipping the file 
  41.        THOST230.ZIP, the following line should appear after the un-
  42.        Zipping process is complete:

  46.        This ensures that none of the TinyHost files have been tampered 
  47.        with.

  51.            As released, TinyHost consists of the following files:

  53.            THOST230.EXE - The executable file. The 230 refers to the 
  54.        version number of the program (V2.30).
  55.  
  56.            TINYHOST.DOC - A printer-ready manual for TinyHost. Just use 
  57.        the DOS PRINT command.
  58.  
  59.            TINYHOST.WEL - A sample welcome file for use with TinyHost.

  61.            HISTORY.TXT - The release history of TinyHost.
  62.  
  63.            REGISTER.FRM - a printer-ready registration form. Just use 
  64.        the DOS PRINT command.

  66.            READ.ME - The file you're reading now.

  68.            IN-NODE.LST - A text file listing all of the Intelec Network 
  69.        nodes (BBSes).

  73.            Reading (or at least browsing) the manual is strongly 
  74.        suggested. However, a Quick Start section is available in the 
  75.        manual to help get TinyHost up and running in a minimal amount of 
  76.        time.
